U.S. Citizenship
To apply for naturalization, a person must generally meet the following criteria:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be a lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder) for at least:
- E5 years, or
- E3 years if married to and living with a U.S. citizen.
- Must be physically present in the U.S. for at least 30 months out of the last 5 years (or 18 months out of the last 3 years for spouses of citizens).
- Have continuously lived in the U.S. for the required period.
